Romeo y Julieta, alongside with the brands of Montecristo and Cohiba, is considered as one of the world's most famous and popular Cuban cigar brands. The story has often been read by the rollers and the rollers of the cigars have been so popular that the brand was named after it.
The cigar brand "Romeo y Julieta"has a long history with a somewhat unclear beginning. It is reported that the brand was founded by Inocencio Álvarez Rodríguez and José "Manin" García in 1850. During his heyday, no less than 20,000 different cigar rings, or even waistbands, were used for production.
The format's diversity is also legendary-as far back as 1959, more than 1,000 different Vitolas were produced at Romeo y Julieta. Today, the cigar brand Romeo y Julieta offers the largest number of different cigars.
